All Done!
Ok then, all work is complete and its down to the examiners to be as kind as possible about my project. I admit that the finished version wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be, but the basic principles are there, and it works! Just wait and see I guess… its rumoured that we should get the results early July, so see what happens. In the mean time, I’m due for lots of sleep and relaxation, tehe.

Nearly There!
What’s new? Hendrix has had an extension on his project, so that should give me more time to prioritise before the deadline. Lindsey’s work is basically complete; I just need to complete some short animations of the water and boat moving. Javascript crossing over with the Unity player has become a real issue and I’m gonna have to revert back to iframes ☹. I have some basic building plans coming in, mainly of ground floors, but it is becoming a real help, in 3D construction, and has taken many hours off my work time. Not long to go, things are looking up… but I fear I may have taken on too bigger job to handle in just the 1 year, so I am going to prioritise in building ground floors, and the university exterior, at least then I will have a working version, no matter how detailed, by the deadline.

What's He Building?
What's He Building In There?
What The Hell Is He Building
In There?
He Has Subscriptions To Those
Magazines... He Never
Waves When He Goes By
He's Hiding Something From
The Rest Of Us... He's All
To Himself... I Think I Know
Why... He Took Down The
Tire Swing From The Peppertree
He Has No Children Of His
Own You See... He Has No Dog
And He Has No Friends And
His Lawn Is Dying... And
What About All Those Packages
He Sends. What's He Building In There?
With That Hook Light
On The Stairs. What's He Building
In There... I'll Tell You One Thing
He's Not Building A Playhouse For
The Children What's He Building
In There?
Now What's That Sound From Under The Door?
He's Pounding Nails Into A
Hardwood Floor... And I
Swear To God I Heard Someone
Moaning Low... And I Keep
Seeing The Blue Light Of A
T.V. Show...
He Has A Router
And A Table Saw... And You
Won't Believe What Mr. Sticha Saw
There's Poison Underneath The Sink
Of Course... But There's Also
Enough Formaldehyde To Choke
A Horse... What's He Building
In There. What The Hell Is He
Building In There? I Heard He
Has An Ex-Wife In Some Place
Called Mayors Income, Tennessee
And He Used To Have A
Consulting Business In Indonesia...
But What Is He Building In There?
What The Hell Is Building In There?
He Has No Friends
But He Gets A Lot Of Mail
I'll Bet He Spent A Little
Time In Jail...
I Heard He Was Up On The
Roof Last Night
Signaling With A Flashlight
And What's That Tune He's
Always Whistling...
What's He Building In There?

2 weeks and counting
Ok, where am I and what am I doing… My tutor has been able to make contact with the estates department, and some progress towards getting our hands on the plans has been made. I may get them early next week, fingers crossed. Anyway, lets see what happens, but I really appreciate all the help Joe, my tutor has given me.. I already know getting your hands on plans to a University is one hell of a complicated task, but he has more chance of success that I, being part of the Uni after all.
Past weeks progress includes, registering a domain, finally. I have been producing a new interface, which is currently incomplete. I have combined the page with some pretty special JavaScript, but when placing the Unity 3D player into the scene, the JavaScript seems to become disabled…. So im gonna have to do some fiddling to see if I can get round this, or I shall have to go back to something like the old design, which operates around iframes. Though I want to stray clear of page scrolling as much as possible, which the use of iframes may very well produce. But if I can’t get this JavaScript to work, then I may not have much of a choice. I thought it would be appropriate that the new interface design included the look of the University’s website, as I had intended the finished product to be integrated with the University’s site, for all users to access. I have had a lot of thoughts concerning the design of the website, as the current University’s site isn’t the most glamorous, but discussions with co-workers concluded that I should used the Uni site design. I’m battling on with Hendrix and Lindsey’s 3D pieces and hope to have them both completed by the end of today… I guess you’ll find out when I blog tomorrow, lol. A few screenies are below; I especially enjoyed making the water in Lindsey’s piece.

Im Lovin this water

Concerning the work for Hendrix, its the small details which make his 3D pieces special for me. We still have a few buildings, cars, stereo, bench, and a few other bits to put it. Its gives a lot of realism and atmosphere :)
Back to my project… With the 3D engine, I have managed to complete the coding for simple object interaction, and to query the database to display information. So I have at least the basic side of the project completed. Things are looking up, and with the major deadline just under 2 weeks away, your bound to be nervous, there’s plenty of work to be getting on with.
